Imas Completes 720 t/day Flour Mill Project in Central Africa

Imas has completed and commissioned a new 720 t/day flour mill project in Central Africa, bringing its total installed capacity for the same customer in the region to 1,180 t/day.

The new mill became operational in September 2026 and represents the third turnkey project delivered by İmaş for the customer, which operates in the food and retail sectors in Central Africa. The company previously completed a 300 t/day flour mill for the customer in 2021 and a second 160 t/day facility in 2024.

238,000 tonnes of annual wheat processing capacity

The new facility has an annual wheat processing capacity of 238,000 tonnes. Its milling section comprises 36 roller mills, six eight-passage square plansifters and eight single-deck purifiers, designed as a single integrated unit.

The turnkey project covered engineering, manufacturing, installation and commissioning, extending from the site through to the completed mill. İmaş also designed, manufactured and constructed the steel building housing the facility, alongside the milling machinery and automation system.

Integrated automation from intake to packing

The mill is operated through an integrated automation system covering the production process from wheat intake through to flour packing.

The automation architecture enables centralised plant management as well as real-time monitoring and reporting of production volumes, extraction rates and consumption data.

The system also provides remote access for İmaş’s after-sales team, allowing technical personnel to connect to the facility for troubleshooting, technical support and check-up activities.

With the commissioning of the new 720 t/day facility, İmaş’s three projects for the same Central African customer now represent a combined milling capacity of 1,180 t/day.
