Turkish Grain Board to Offer 5.5 Million Tonnes of Wheat for Sale

Turkish Grain Board to Offer 5.5 Million Tonnes of Wheat for Sale

The Turkish Grain Board (TMO) has revised the quantities, procedures and principles governing grain sales in line with market developments and industry needs. According to a statement issued by the institution, a total of 5.5 million tonnes of bread wheat and durum wheat will be offered for sale from October 5.

TMO said it has reached a strong stock position following the combination of grain carried over from previous years and purchases made during the 2026 harvest season. As part of the revised sales arrangements, stocks held in licensed warehouses will continue to be sold freely through the Turkish Mercantile Exchange (TÜRİB).

Stocks held in TMO warehouses, meanwhile, will be made available for free sale to users. The arrangement is intended to increase the availability of wheat stocks through both licensed warehouses and TMO storage facilities.

No Change to Sales Prices

TMO also emphasized that no changes or increases have been made to the sales prices announced during the harvest period.

The institution stated that it will continue to closely monitor developments in domestic and international markets, the balance between supply and demand, and the needs of the sector in the coming period.
